The first thing you want to do is open the Google Forms survey where you want to use logic branching. Once you have the survey open, separate the questions that will have branching logic into different sections. You can create a new section by clicking on the icon that looks like two rectangles. Give each section a title. Doing this makes it a lot easier to differentiate each section and link answers together. If the questions already exist in your survey, drag them directly into the section where you want them to appear.

Note: Branching logic works only for questions that use multiple choice or drop-down answers in them. Next, click on a question to add branching logic to. From the list of answers, click the drop-down menu and then select the section you want it to connect to when someone chooses it. Whether you have multiple sites for an event and want to know how many people will be at each or want to create a fun choose-your-own-adventure story, Google Forms makes it easy to do with branch logic.

After ensuring everything works as intended, it’s time to clean up. You might be tempted to throw out those large Monitor objects to reduce clutter, but you will desparately want them back in 7 months when you have forgotten how all this works I think it’s better to just move the non-GUI-objects as they are to a different layer and rearrange the remaining ones to your liking, like this:.

About the “clickable objects” issue. From what i see, every single CC gets indeed recorded on selected tracks in recording mode. This always happens, with objects cabled or uncabled, transformed or filtered afterwards. FF messages get recorded as well in the same conditions i. FF7 gets recorded as a “region automation” volume. Even “spare” Meta messages create strange ” ” symbols in Midi regions i can’t even find them out inside Midi draw.

I’m sure you already know all this but i’m a noob! That’s not a great issue for me, as i’m planning to use an external controller Akai MPK Mini MK2, the reason why i’m learning the Environment, but that’s another point. SO, i can live with this, as long as i won’t need to directly click a lot of Env. I see that some swiftkick macros use CC81 and above So: it’s impossible not to get them recorded in that condition, but they won’t matter.

It would be nice to have standardized messages between macros for some modular macros as long as they’re all macros i’ve done myself. I have little experience so maybe i’m doing this all wrong, let’s see in the future! Part 2 completed! That’s great There was something i didn’t understand: all my left faders were set with input “”, yet if a message matches the Out definition of the fader Didn’t know this, i thought that a fader was controlled by the Input definition only Out of curiosity, i’ve inspected the free but not-unpackable AppKats Environment Modules with the “recording on track always records any clickable object’s interactions” trick.

Lots of “unorthodox” Meta messages on the interactive elements! AppKats modules are very instructive, it’s a pity their interface gets messed up by the conversion. That was an idea which obviously wasn’t thought even halfway through by the developers. The only reasons for it to exist would be a Apple then Emagic could provide pre-built and unbreakable Environment modules, which even without the benefit of hindsight had a real world probability of exactly zero since doing so would acknowledge that the software itself would benefit from or maybe even depend on that sort of “hack” or b an option for external developers to custom-build and sell such modules.

Now, the latter seemed very viable at first glance, but the developers’ obvious neglect of the Environment through the various versions of Logic has led to all kinds of bugs with Macros GUI objects hidden behind Ornaments, Faders behaving differently when packed in a Macro, etc. Add to that that Macros themselves are quite limited by design no Aliases inside, only one Input, only one Output, no Channel Strips inside, Cables leading in and out break when packing or unpacking the Macro and you have something that’s not supportable in any sustainable way for an external developer.

No way to build a business on that. Maybe it’s entropy. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Paste as plain text instead. Only 75 emoji are allowed.

In the Environment, the default input for faders is CC7 1 Volume.

But sometimes i’ll have to process CC 7 too, so i’d like not to mess things up. Is it bad to use the “free” Meta messages as any other midi message ie.

I owe pretty much all I know about the Environment to Len Sasso. Posted November 7, Thanks fuzzfilth! This is a great tutorial for me and for everyone, i’ll apply it asap to my Macro and get back when i’ve learned how to use these useful informations. Posted November 10, Sorry but i’m still behind, i’ll dive into your great Presets Tutorial asap. Posted November 11, edited. The list, however, does not reflect the transition curve of the change, only the start and end points. You can also save Tempo sets in the List view, which are basically tempo templates, using the drop-down menu shown above.

Here you can make various sorts of transitions between two tempo values in an area defined by the yellow Cycle area. The change is reflected in the graphic at the bottom. You can even random tempo change events based on a maximum change parameter, or thin out existing data.

Beat mapping allows you to change the tempo of the session to match the performance a recording by analyzing and mapping the transients. This could be highly useful getting MIDI tracks to line up with a live performance recorded without a click after the fact. The process is well-explained in the Logic Manual. All the Tempo adjustment techniques above have their place and are appropriate in certain circumstances.

But none of them address the idea of changing and recording tempo as the track plays. Simply move the parameters on screen and click [Command-L] to bring up the controller assignment dialog. The rest is self explanatory. But recording to the Tempo Track cannot be done in the same way. Click on the right side of the Fader object to expose the Setting Windows on the Left. Choose Control and pick a Controller Number that matches the controller number of the knob or slider on your device that you intend to use.

Now when you move you controller you should see the Tempo display change as well. Record enable the track and hit Record [R]. Adjust the tempo as the session plays. Stop the session and the automation should magically appear in your Tempo Track. You are now armed with the necessary Tempo tools to create a more convincing musical simulacrum.
